Formula

Max Rent = Monthly Income ร— (Rent Ratio / 100)

The 30% rule: spend no more than 30% of gross income on rent. With debts, the 50/30/20 rule suggests needs (including rent) โ‰ค 50% of income.

Example 1: $5K/mo income

Problem:$5,000/mo income, $300 debts, 30% target

Solution:Max rent = $5,000 ร— 30% = $1,500
