Formula
Volume (mL) = Dose (mg) / Concentration (mg/mL)
The volume of liquid medication to administer equals the prescribed dose in milligrams divided by the concentration of the solution in milligrams per milliliter. The concentration is found on the medication label and indicates how much active ingredient is dissolved in each milliliter of solution.
