Because the pool is capped and distributed across all qualifying views, the effective rate per thousand views is low and drifts downward as more creators qualify. Widely reported figures cluster around 0.02 to 0.04 dollars per thousand views for general content, which is roughly 20 to 40 dollars per million views, with higher-value verticals such as finance, technology and education reported nearer 0.04 to 0.10 dollars per thousand. The calculator applies a low-high band by niche rather than a single point estimate because published creator disclosures vary widely even within one category. Eligibility has generally required being at least 18, holding a minimum follower count in the region of 10,000, accumulating around 100,000 qualifying views in the preceding 30 days, and posting original content in a supported country. The comparison this tool makes explicit is the important one: estimated brand deal value at roughly 0.01 to 0.03 dollars per follower per sponsored post typically dwarfs fund income, so a 200,000-follower account might see a hundred dollars a month from views and thousands from a single partnership. TikTok announced the Creator Fund in July 2020, initially committing 200 million dollars in the United States and stating an intention to grow the programme to around 1 billion dollars over three years, with a separate European fund announced later that year. The design was a deliberate answer to YouTube Partner Program, which since 2007 had shared advertising revenue with uploaders, but TikTok chose a fixed pool instead of a revenue share because its full-screen recommendation feed did not carry pre-roll advertising against individual videos in the same way. The fixed-pool structure produced its own problem. As the eligible creator base grew far faster than the pool, the effective per-view payout fell, and prominent creators publicly criticised the economics from 2021 onward. TikTok responded by introducing the Creativity Program Beta in early 2023, which paid higher reported rates but required videos longer than one minute, favouring the platform push toward longer watch sessions. The original Creator Fund was then closed to creators in the United States, United Kingdom, France and Germany at the end of 2023, with participants migrated to the new programme, later presented as the Creator Rewards Program. The broader lesson visible in this history is that platform-funded view payouts have been unstable, which is why creator income modelling has shifted toward sponsorship, affiliate commerce and direct audience payments.
