Formula

Weight = Volume × Density

Converts volume to weight using specific density values for each ingredient (e.g., 1 cup flour ≈ 125g, 1 cup sugar ≈ 200g).

Worked Examples

Example 1: Baking Cake

Problem:Recipe calls for 2 cups of sugar, but I only have a scale.

Solution:Sugar density is ~200g/cup. 2 cups * 200g = 400g.

Result:400 grams

Example 2: Butter Conversion

Problem:Need 100g of butter in tablespoons.

Solution:100g / 227g per cup = 0.44 cups. 0.44 * 16 tbsp/cup = ~7 tbsp.

Result:7.05 tbsp
